| Rivera, Jesús |
Born in Cuba 1956, relocating to the US in 1995, Rivera creates large format paintings, sculptures, ceramics, drawings and utilitarian art. His subject matter includes allegories of home life, the human heart, and stained glass motifs. In addition to being a prolific artist, Rivera teaches art to children and adults, and is owner and curator of Qbava Gallery. He has exhibited in galleries and museums in the US and throughout the world. In the US his work has shown in New York City, New Union City, Newark, Hoboken, Englewood, New Brunswick, Bridgeport, New Haven, Miami, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. Rivera has exhibited abroad in the following 12 countries: Cuba, Spain, México, Sri Lanka, Belgium, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Russia, Australia, and Japan. Most recently Jesús Rivera participated as a featured artist in the Museo del Barrio 5th Biennial with a multimedia installation.
